About me

My name is Nicola Gambetti. I have been working in IT since 1989, in an era when mainframes were still the operational core of large companies. I have experienced every major technological phase since then: client-server, local networks, the internet, up to cloud computing and cybersecurity. I have worked with banks, publishing houses, public institutions, pharmaceutical and logistics companies, solving complex problems in legacy, hybrid, and modern environments. I am a systems engineer by nature, an analyst by experience, and a consultant by vocation.

Case studies

1. A small glass processing company needed to use two Microsoft Small Business Server licenses within a single domain, something considered impossible according to Microsoft’s own documentation. After 5 days of work, I devised an installation procedure that allowed both servers to operate within the same domain, just as the client requested, without violating Microsoft’s licensing.
2. BNL, operation bridge process: after various reports from branches across Italy about missing daily cash flows — despite no clear software anomalies — I identified the issue as a misconfigured value in a recent update. This led to the successful restoration of all original cash flow records.
